Jesus, the Man

The teachings of Jesus Christ are masterful, and his many miracles are inspiring. However, the Scriptures declare, and Jesus knew, that his primary purpose on Earth was to pay the price for our sin. To do that, he would need to allow himself to be mocked, beaten and tortured, and finally to be crucified. Jesus’ death on the cross was both physical and spiritual, and by far the more excruciating of the two was spiritual death, which resulted in something he had never before experienced: total separation from God.
