Goodness and Severity

Many Christians are troubled by the concept of the wrath of God. Far too often, those sections of Scripture which clearly speak of God’s wrath against sin are avoided out of a desire to focus solely on God’s love and mercy. However, God’s love and mercy can never be truly appreciated without an understanding of the inexorable judgment from which we have been rescued by Jesus Christ. [Tom Burke]
