God gave the Law and Jesus Christ kept it, thereby fulfilling all the Law and the prophecy concerning himself. This qualified Christ to lay down his life as a ransom to pay the price for the sin of all mankind, enabling those who believe on him to be restored to the spiritual state Adam lost for mankind. Once restored, there is nothing left to do other than to lay down our lives in love and service to others. [Tom Burke]
