Acts 1:1 – 2:16

#433 – October 16, 2005

Before his ascension Jesus Christ prepared his apostles to receive the promise of the Father: the gift of holy spirit. He told them they would receive power and be witnesses after the holy spirit was come upon them. The apostles tarried in Jerusalem, praying daily in the temple, until the Day of Pentecost when the gift of holy spirit was poured out. There is no more tarrying needed for God’s spirit is available now to everyone that believes on the Lord Jesus Christ. [Tom Burke]
