Philippians & Colossians, Part 2

The book of Colossians provides correction to a church which had allowed wrong practice to develop into wrong doctrine. They had been beguiled by things not Christ-centered and did not value the head, Christ. This epistle reminds the church who Christ is, what they have in him, and that being apart from him, they have nothing. The exhortation is to set their thoughts and hearts on things above, for Christ is coming back. [Tom Burke]
