Service

#558 – March 16, 2008

Service to God is not a requirement, but rather a freewill response to God’s grace and mercy. All of God’s children stand on equal footing whether they choose to serve or not. To be a servant for God requires great humility because in God’s Kingdom, the greater a man the more he serves. God doesn’t want anything done out of selfish ambition, but out of love and care, putting others before ourselves. We have the promise from God’s Word that if we serve God’s way we will be happy.(W. Merrill)
