The Joy of Salvation

#743 – October 9, 2011

This teaching begins by showing the absolute impossibility of any of us “earning” righteousness by our own works. God’s standard is sinlessness, and none of us can measure up to that. But, through the work of Jesus Christ our sin was laid on him and his righteousness given to us. Knowing this, the Christian will never see himself as “better than” anyone else. But we can and should see ourselves as rescued, cleansed and forgiven in Christ, eternally. [Tom Burke]
