Why Choose God’s Way?

We looked at the perspective Ecclesiastes gives of sin and the things of this world: not some nebulous evil, but vanity (emptiness). Though some may call the struggle against sin morality, we saw from the Word that the believer can have a much stronger reason to choose God’s ways. If we stand in awe of God, we can choose His ways over the ways of the world because we trust His Word. His Word reveals that everything in this world is vanity. We can, as Solomon did, test each commandment of God and see in the end that God was right and the world was wrong. Or we can, as God’s children, submit to His will because we trust Him.
