What Does God’s Word Say?

#765 – March 25, 2012

Traditions, in the most general sense, are simply ways of doing things and ways of thinking. All of us (individuals and groups) have traditions. Our goal is not to eliminate tradition, for this is impossible. However, we must be careful that our traditions do not take precedence over God’s Word. This teaching shows that we as Christians need to be conscious of our traditions, and willing to examine them in light of God’s Word. Also, when necessary, we must be willing to set aside those traditions in order to better conform to God’s Word (and not the reverse). [Tom Burke]
