1 Corinthians 8:7 – 9:11

#788 – September 9, 2012

This series continues by examining the specific “issue” being addressed in the Corinthian church: meat offered to idols. In examining this, we see that the real issue for all churches at all times is really the issue of love. Some time is spent on considering the “strong” and the “weak” in the church as well as on defining what God says love is, and how it is shown.

The teaching concludes with a brief discussion of the opening verses of chapter 10, which, though seemingly unrelated, speak directly to the Corinthians’ lack of love, through Paul using his own life as an example. [Tom Burke]
