The World and the Age, Part 1

#817 – March 31, 2013

As God moved holy men to write His Word, they did so with their own language and vocabulary. The word kosmos, usually translated “world”, is used not of the planet, but of the order, the systems of the world. At times, particularly in the writings of John, it carries the further implication that these systems are basically evil. We looked at why the world is a place that in its most basic purposes is opposed to the purposes of God.
