The Bema (Family Camp 2013)

#836 – August 11, 2013

The judgment seat of Christ is both a solemn and exciting part of our hope. No Christian will ever come under condemnation for sin, and yet there is a type of judgment to come where each Christian’s service is evaluated as worthy of reward or not. Christians who perform works built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ with love and through the power of the new creation will be personally acknowledged for their faithful service. Christians whose service does not qualify will receive the loss of the acknowledgement they could have had. To the one who loves Christ, it’s not so much the actual reward that is significant. Rather it is what the reward stands for that is significant (that our lives were pleasing to the Lord we love). The more we grow in love for the one who died for us the more his praise and honor and thanks will mean to us. [Josh Thomas]
