Conquer and Divide (Old Testament 8)

Though their enemies were stronger and mightier than Israel, Joshua and the children of Israel were well-prepared to believe God to take the promised land. As Israel obeyed God, God was with them and His strength brought the victory. For Israel, their necessary part was to remember God’s word to them and be strong and courageous to obey in the face of the obstacles. For us today as Christians, we are blessed in our deeds as we continue to obey God’s word to us. Denying that our spiritual enemy is stronger than us can only build self-confidence while God would have us build a God-confidence. [Josh Thomas]
