They Shall Speak with New Tongues

In Mark 16:15-18, Jesus Christ gives final instructions to the eleven, before his ascension and the Day of Pentecost. Listed among several supernatural abilities promised to “them that believe” is the only reference Jesus made to speaking in tongues. And since all of these abilities were promised to “them that believe” it would include all Christians who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; therefore all believers have the ability to speak in tongues. Jesus Christ also made it clear that all of these abilities would be available “in my name”, therefore having all the authority included in the name of Jesus Christ. [Ken McCaw]
