Something New or Something True?

Christians are instructed to bear up under pressure and, in love, to be forbearing with one another. However, we should not be forbearing of teaching that presents another Jesus, another spirit, or another gospel. As an alternative, our pursuit can be growing up more into the Christ revealed in the Scriptures. The temptation to find new wisdom outside of God’s Word is real, but we have ample examples of people who resisted that temptation and faithfully longed for and loved the truth, accepting no substitutes.
