The Power to Love

God commands us to love one another. In doing so His love is made manifest in us. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life can hinder us from remembering what God has made us: divine partakers in His nature. God reveals to us who we are in our new nature — no longer mere humans — and distinguishes us from the world. When we have a faith-response to that, we can truly love one another with the power of Christ and not of our own flesh. [Joe Clarke]
