Although God set up the relationship between man and woman in Genesis, the Christian marriage addressed in the New Testament was not possible until the day of Pentecost and the outpouring of holy spirit. God’s Word addressed to the church must be agreed upon and believed by a husband and wife. When that happens, a marriage can grow, and mature, and produce fruit, which is not available outside of the Christian marriage.
